Vanilla Caramel Candied Walnuts

Vanilla Caramel Candied Walnuts is a super simple recipe, with really delicious results. You could add in extras too!

 

Vanilla Caramel Candied Walnuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound shelled walnuts (preferably halves)
  • 1 cup whole milk (any type would work)
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons Buttery Sweet Dough Flavor (optional)

Instructions:

  • Prepare cookie sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
  • Combine milk, sugars, molasses, and salt in medium size pot. Place over medium-high heat. Using a candy thermometer, heat mixture to 240 degrees, stirring periodically.

  • Once the mixture reaches 240 degrees, remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla. NOTE: this could splash! Be careful, it’s very hot!
  • When the vanilla is completely incorporated, pour walnuts into pot and stir, covering all walnuts in the mixture.
  • Pour walnut mixture onto prepared cookie sheet and spread with a wooden spoon.

  • Let walnuts cool completely. Break up walnuts into desired size.
