fullsizerender-3 OK, so it's almost Halloween and a Halloween cocktail is certainly on its way for you but in the meantime how about you make something for your kids? I get it, don't they get enough crap on Halloween? Sure they do, any parent on this planet knows that. It's just a given.  So in keeping with that theme, you know the one where all they eat is sugar, why not start them out with a nice short stack of Halloween buttermilk pancakes!! This will surely surprise them and come on, it's just fun. Anyway, these are easy to whip up and are guaranteed to either make them happy or just gross them out. Either way it's a win-win 🙂 Happy Halloween !!! fullsizerender-9

In a large bowl whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl whisk together until just combined. Do not over mix. There will be a few lumps. Divide evenly into three bowls. Using gel food coloring, drop and mix the colors of choice. Obviously we used green, purple and orange. Mix until incorporated. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter (we just eye-balled it, so much more Halloweenish 🙂 ) onto hot ungreased griddle or pan. Cook until bubbles form on top. About 1-2 minutes. Flip and do the same on the other side. Mix black gel food coloring to syrup to create a nice, creepy black syrup fullsizerender-5 image-1 fullsizerender-3
