Our Favorite Things: Part 5!

Hello readers! I would like to apologize. Susie was so good about getting me her three favorite things last week, but I was just so busy I didn't have time to post them. The point is, it may be a week late, but here it is - Our Favorite Things: Part 5!   Susie's Favorite Things:

1. This baking cocoa rocks! Yes, it's a bit more expensive but it is worth it. And here's the thing, if you have gluten free or vegan friends well then, this is the cocoa for you! Talk about a bonus!! So go ahead and spring for it, you won't be sorry. You will taste the difference immediately and your friends and family will adore you. And come on already.....you know you want to be adored!!

2. Swedish Fish. OK, I know this isn't healthy and I know you're thinking "what the heck does this have to do with baking?".....I get it, not necessarily a baking ingredient but come on....let's be creative here. How fun would this be to bake an awesome cake and decorate it with Swedish Fish, like all around the circumference? Yep, you are picturing it right now aren't you? I would, I am. I'm gonna do it. And in the meantime I am going to keep eating these little fish because they are just that good.....   Rebekkah's Favorite Things:

1. Justin's Maple Almond ButterThis is seriously the best almond butter. It is so good. I'm not a huge peanut butter fan, but almond butter is the best! Unfortunately, it's a little expensive. Luckily, if you want to try it, but not sure if you want the whole jar, they have little to-go packs (I've even seen them at Target!) Might I suggest stirring some into oatmeal?

2. Trader Joe's Rolled OatsI know what you're thinking. What could be so special about rolled oats? I'll tell you what - they're gluten free! One of the biggest disappointments about having to be gluten free (besides the lack of decent bread of course) is that oats, which should be gluten free, are often not gluten free due to growing conditions/contamination. That's where Trader Joe's comes in. These oats are totally reasonably priced and, of course, delicious! Perfect for the Justin's Maple Almond Butter to-go pack you just bought! Our Favorite Thing: Susie: I love this almond milk!! It's the best, seriously. Once upon a time Rebekkah came home from college, went to the store and brought this particular almond milk back AND announced that this was the only "milk like" product she would drink or more importantly, pour on her cereal (she loves cereal). I actually "poo-pooed" it....until one day when I needed milk and this is what was in my fridge. I tried it and never went back....no cow's milk for me since. I love it that much. True story. And BTW, this can be substituted in any recipe that calls for milk....works just the same. Rebekkah: I was a little upset when Susie stole one of my favorite things - so I thought it could be a joint favorite thing!  But in all seriousness, the only way to go is Almond Breeze. It's way better than normal milk and I like it better than soy milk. I have it every morning! SO, so good.
