Orange, Sesame, and Honey Cookies

FullSizeRender-2 These are some of our favorite cookies. Crunchy and soft (is that combination even possible?) and subtlety sweet with a really cool orange honey scent. If you love toasted sesame seeds then you are going to love these. And in case you're wondering....yes, they are even good frozen 🙂  

Orange, Sesame, and Honey Cookies



  1 1/4 cups granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 large egg 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/3  cup toasted sesame seeds + 1/3 cup for rolling cookies in 2 tablespoons honey 2 teaspoons grated orange peel   Drizzle for finished, baked cookies - combine 1 tablespoon orange juice with 1 tablespoon honey.   Heat oven to 350 degrees. Cover your cookie sheets with parchment paper. Combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, unsalted butter and vanilla in a large bowl; beat with a mixer at medium speed until fluffy. Add egg to mixture and beat until just blended. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix in 1/3 cup toasted sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons honey and grated orange peel into cookie dough and mix until combined. Place the other 1/3 cup toasted sesame seeds in a bowl; scoop dough by tablespoonfuls, and roll in sesame seeds. Arrange 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool completely. Drizzle the combined orange juice and honey on cooled cookies. FullSizeRender-1
