Dirt Bombs



Yep, Dirt Bombs. What a weird name, right? No idea why. But these are good and they don’t taste like dirt. They are like this yummy buttery-cinnamon-sugar coated doughnut hole. Yeah, you’ve been warned.


Dirt Bombs




2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2  teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

3/4 cup sugar

1 large egg

1 cup whole milk




Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray you 12-cup muffin tin with non-stick pan.

Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg in a medium bowl, set aside.

Using a mixture, beat butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 4  minutes. Beat in your egg. Add  the dry ingredients in 3 additions alternating with milk in 2 additions, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.

Divide batter into muffin tin cups and bake about 30-35 minutes until tester comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes then transfer to wire rack.



1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, melted



Mix sugar and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Working one muffin at a time, dip tops of muffins in melted butter, then cinnamon sugar. Repeat if you want an extra thick topping.
