Baby Teething Cookies

Molly (our 1 year old grand daughter/niece) is one, which means she's teething. And she's teething big time so.....Molly and I decided to bake her a little something that's not so bad for her and feels good on those adorable little teething sore gums!!! And BTW, you're never too young to bake:-)

I really like your recipe for these cookies. I purchased some organic teething cookies but they didn’t disintegrate fast enough for my little guy and were more like the consistency of a dog biscuit, but the Gerber ones (which have high fructose corn syrup, ugh, and other stuff) are extremely messy and melt maybe a little too quickly.

How would you say your cookies are as far as softness once the baby starts gnawing them?

      Hi Janet,
To answer your question directly, even though they seemed to be a bit on the chewy side to me, I do think the end result (after Molly started chewing and teething them) was soft and easy for her to handle. Molly didn’t seem to have any problems with chewing and gumming them 🙂 She liked the chewiness and didn’t have any problems with them. I’d say that if you want them less chewy, under cook them just a bit. You can also try adding an additional tablespoon of Earth Balance, which will lend the texture of the cookie to be a bit more moist and and won’t cause it to disintegrate too quickly. Have fun and….Happy Baking!!
